Warehouse Manager
Location: Bethlehem, Free State
Job's Purpose:This position is responsible for ensuring the efficient receipt, storage, and dispatch of finished products, maintaining high standards of accuracy, safety, and quality, and service reliability.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee the receipt, storage, and dispatch of finished goods (bagged product).
- Manage inventory levels to ensure accuracy and optimal space utilisation.
- Implement and maintain high standards of cleanliness, safety, and organisation within the warehouse.
- Lead, train, and develop warehouse staff to achieve productivity and efficiency targets.
- Coordinate with production, logistics, and internal departments to ensure smooth operational flow.
- Develop, monitor, and manage key performance indicators, including inventory accuracy, order fulfilment times, cost per unit shipped, employee productivity, and safety incidents.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives based on KPI results.
- Oversee the effective use and maintenance of warehouse management systems.
- Address and resolve customer-related issues relating to product handling, quality, or logistics.
- Manage the warehouse operational budget, including staffing, supplies, and logistics costs.
- Plan and coordinate transport logistics to ensure on-time delivery while optimising routes and costs.
- Monitor delivery performance and resolve transit-related issues to maintain service levels and customer satisfaction.
- Ensure compliance with quality standards, procedures, and specifications.
- Develop procedures for handling damaged or returned goods.
- Collaborate with production planning to align stock levels with orders and forecast requirements.
- Maintain minimum stock levels to support continuous operations while avoiding excess inventory.
- Proactively manage slow-moving or aging stock to reduce space constraints and financial losses.
Minimum Requirements:
- Degree in Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years experience in warehouse management, preferably within a manufacturing environment.
- Proficiency in warehouse management systems and database software.
- Strong understanding of inventory management principles and supply chain operations.
- Excellent organisational, leadership, and people management skills.
