Restaurant Commis Chef
As a Commis Chef in our upcoming signature restaurant at Mount Nelson, you are part of a team that shapes the culinary experience of our guests. In this role, you will contribute to the overall efficiency and success of the kitchen team. Our new signature restaurant, offers an immersive marine dining experience, transporting guests into the mysterious beauty and biodiversity of the surrounding Two Oceans.
Open 5 days a week, with set off days being Sunday and Monday, launching in Quarter 4 2025.
Primary Responsibilities Include:
- Assist the Chef de Partie in meal preparation.
- Monitor portion control and quantities of preparation to minimise waste.
- Prepare ingredients for the meal service.
- Maintain a clean and safe work area, including handling knives and kitchen equipment safely.
- Comply with nutrition and sanitation guidelines.
Requirements
What You Bring:
- Good knowledge of hygiene & safety standards.
- Ability to work with little supervision.
- Team & Goal Orientated.
- Good understanding of health & safety and food hygiene.
