Senior Credit Analyst:
This role sits within a specialist credit risk function focused on Resourceâbased and Project Finance portfolios. The successful candidate will manage a defined portfolio across the full credit lifecycle, delivering highâquality credit risk assessments that support informed decisionâmaking while balancing commercial and risk considerations.
The role offers exposure to complex transactions, senior leadership committees, and strategic initiatives, making it ideal for a seasoned professional looking to operate at Vice President level. You will be responsible for facilitating credit sanctioning, monitoring portfolio performance, and ensuring strong governance and risk oversight while building trusted relationships with key internal stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities- Manage a portfolio of Mining, Project Finance, and Oil & Gas clients across the full credit lifecycle
- Prepare and present highâquality credit applications and portfolio risk analysis to senior risk committees
- Conduct detailed financial, industry, and economic analysis to support credit decisionâmaking
- Monitor covenants, conditions, exposure levels, and portfolio performance within approved risk appetite
- Build and manage strong relationships with business partners and key internal stakeholders
- Ensure accurate risk data, reporting, and governance in line with credit policies and regulatory requirements
Job Experience and Skills Required
Education:
- Bâdegree in Business, Commerce, or a related field
- Postgraduate qualification such as CA(SA) or CFA (preferred)
Experience:
- Minimum of 5 years experience within a credit risk environment
- Proven exposure to Mining, Oil & Gas, and/or Project Finance portfolios
- Experience presenting to senior management or credit committees
Skills:
- Strong financial analysis and credit assessment capability
- Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills
- Ability to interpret and apply credit policies, legal requirements, and risk frameworks
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently
