Job Overview: We are seeking a reliable and customer-oriented Cashier to join our team in Cape Town.
As a Cashier, you will be responsible for handling cash transactions, providing excellent customer service, and maintaining a clean and organized checkout area.
Key Responsibilities:- Greet customers and provide a friendly and welcoming atmosphere
- Process cash, credit, and debit card transactions accurately and efficiently
- Maintain a balanced cash drawer and prepare daily cash reports
- Answer customer inquiries and assist with product location and selection
- Scan and bag items accurately and efficiently
- Ensure all prices and product codes are correct and up-to-date
- Maintain a clean and organized checkout area
- Follow all company policies and procedures regarding cash handling and customer service
- Collaborate with other team members to ensure a positive and efficient shopping experience for customers
- Handle customer complaints and escalate issues to the appropriate manager when necessary
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Store Manager or Assistant Manager Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Previous experience in a retail or customer service role preferred
- Strong communication and customer service skills
- Basic math and computer skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment
- Attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to stand for extended periods of time
