External Sales & Marketing Consultant

Location: Bethlehem, Free State

The role is focused on managing key accounts, expanding market presence, and increasing sales volumes within a defined territory through effective relationship management and strategic sales execution.

Key Accountabilities:

• Manage and grow existing customer accounts while actively identifying and developing new business opportunities.
• Promote and support the full product offering through consultative selling and value-based solutions.
• Maintain strong, professional relationships with customers and internal teams to ensure service excellence.
• Compile and submit accurate sales, activity, and performance reports on a weekly and monthly basis.
• Participate in industry events, including farmer days, trade shows, and promotional initiatives.
• Assist with product launches, pricing support, and promotional campaigns.
• Handle customer queries, feedback, and delivery follow-ups effectively.
• Support sales forecasting and contribute to stock planning activities.
• Stay informed on market movements, competitor behaviour, and evolving customer needs.

Minimum Requirements:

• Grade 12 (NQF4) is essential.
• A tertiary qualification in Agriculture (B Agric or BSc Agric) will be advantageous.
• Working knowledge of animal nutrition will be a strong advantage.
• Valid Code 08/EB drivers licence required.
• 35 years sales and marketing experience within the agricultural sector.
• Demonstrated success in a similar role, preferably within animal feed or related industries.

• Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal abilities.
• Ability to perform under pressure and manage extended or irregular working hours.
