Mechanical Design Engineer

Job & Company Description:

As a Mechanical Design Engineer, you will be responsible for the design and development of machinery and tooling used in injection moulding and metal pressing processes. You will work closely with manufacturing, tooling, and production teams to optimise machine performance, improve efficiency, and support new product development.

This role offers the opportunity to work on technically challenging equipment, combining mechanical design expertise with real-world manufacturing insight to deliver high-quality, cost-effective solutions.

Education:

• BEng / BTech / Diploma in Mechanical Engineering

Job Experience & Skills Required:

• 38 years experience in mechanical design within manufacturing environments
• Strong experience with injection moulding machines and/or metal pressing equipment
• Proficient in CAD design software (SolidWorks, Inventor, or similar)
• Experience with tooling design, machine layouts, and production equipment optimisation
• Understanding of materials, tolerances, and manufacturing processes
• Exposure to automation and production line integration advantageous
• Strong problem-solving and design-for-manufacture (DFM) capability
• Ability to liaise with production, tooling, and project teams
