A leading FMCG distribution group seeks an experienced Facilities Manager to oversee all aspects of facilities, assets, and compliance across a high‑performance distribution centre. Reporting to the General Manager and National Facilities Manager, this permanent middle‑management role integrates people, place, and process to enhance operational productivity and brand standards.
Key Responsibilities- Strategic facilities planning aligned to business objectives
- Oversight of ammonia refrigeration plant (CAT A) and critical technical assets
- Regulatory compliance (ASIB, fire systems, electrical, water treatment, OHS)
- Asset management, preventative maintenance, and risk management
- Project management of installations and upgrades
- Supplier management, procurement compliance, and cost optimisation
- Financial management of Opex/Capex budgets
- Health, safety, sustainability, and ESG reporting
- Minimum 5 years facilities management experience in FMCG warehousing/distribution
- Ammonia plant maintenance experience
- Relevant qualification (SAFMA / UCT / A4FM / CFM); bachelors degree advantageous
- SAQCC Cat A certification (safe handling & inspections); Cat B technician advantageous
- Strong project management, compliance, and financial management skills
- Excellent communication, problem‑solving, and leadership abilities
